Honey Sesame Chews for this year’s Tray of Togetherness! They are nutty, not too sweet, and sort of like the softer and chewier version of traditional Chinese sesame candies. They are so easy to make, too! Just requires 5-ish ingredients!
Line a small tray or dish with parchment paper.
Melt tahini and honey in a pan over low heat, while stirring with a flexible spatula, about 2 minutes. Once smooth, stir in the salt. Add the dry milk powder and stir until the mixture is smooth. Add the sesame seeds and stir until evenly combined.
Transfer the sesame mixture to the lined tray and spread into an even layer that is a little less than 1/2” thick. Allow the candy to fully cool, at least 1 hour. The candy will firm up but still have to give to it, like a soft caramel.
Transfer to a cutting board and cut into smaller pieces, any shape is fine. Dip the top of each candy into sesame seeds for extra crunch. If you want to wrap them, cut small pieces of parchment paper and wrap the candies.
